Release Notes for ProgenyES 10.03.01.23

General Release Notes:

Audit System: ProgenyES has been updated with an all-inclusive audit system. From 10.2 and onward all record changes are now automatically fully notated for ease of creating a complete audit trail.

Security Notifications: Email notifications for significant security events can now be configured through ProgenyES. Email specific users whenever changes are made to security for categories such as User modification, Failed login, Rights modification. Simple configuration with any email client supporting SMTP.

Additional Security Features: Several smaller but useful security features have been added as well. An admin can now configure the login timeout for all users, automatic account lockout on multiple failed logins, and automatic account locking for extended inactivity.

The message of the Day: A message screen can now be configured to appear when ProgenyES is started. Notify enrollment staff of significant events, new policies, or important security changes.

Additional General Improvements: Additionally, the entire software has had a thorough review in our efforts to make ProgenyES as effective and reliable as possible.

General Release Notes:

MFA: ProgenyES has been updated to support multi-factor authentication using TOTP.

Primary and Secondary Authorized Signatures: Authorized signatures may now be specified as primary or secondary and selected as such on reports to ease the transition in ProgenyES when authorizing individuals change.

Fast Card Preview: Card design has been dramatically streamlined by allowing a card design to be previewed directly through the card designer.

Improved Password Security: ProgenyES passwords have been updated to use a more secure and scalable hash to ensure passwords continue to be secure as computing hardware and cracking techniques/technology progress.

Additional General Improvements: Additionally, the entire software has had a thorough review in our efforts to make ProgenyES as effective and reliable as possible.

General Release Notes:

Back-end Unification:  The back-end of Progeny has been re-designed to meet a unified back-end specification for Progeny and PDS. Going forward all major/minor matching versions of Progeny and PDS will be able to utilize the exact same databases and will be able to seamlessly export and merge data from one to the other.

Filestream Support:  As part of the new back-end specification, Progeny’s heavyweight image containing tables have been updated to support SQL Server Filestream columns. This dramatically improves database performance and allows clients to stay on express versions for longer, as large images are no-longer counted against the size of the database for licensing purposes.

PDF Support:  PDF support has been added for preview, and reporting for individual documents.

Default Record Access:  The Default Record Access feature from version 9 has been re-added. This allows record access to be automatically set when new records are created on a per-user account basis.

Database Access:  The Database Access feature from version 9 has been re-added. This allows databases to be secured on a per-user account basis.

Additional General Improvements:  Besides the obvious changes, the entire software has had a thorough review in our efforts to make ProgenyES as effective and reliable as possible.
